New work commissioned from Kenji Bunch

The Craftsbury Chamber Players has commissioned Kenji Bunch to compose a piece to celebrate our 2005 season -- the 40th consecutive season in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the 25th consecutive season in Burlington, Vermont. The 2005 season also marks Mr. Bunch's 10th year as a performer with the Craftsbury Chamber Players, which makes it even more fitting for him to compose a work to mark our anniversary year. .

Mr. Bunch is a gifted and prolific composer whose works are full of imagination. His new work, a quintet, will be played at the concert on July 20th in Burlington at the University of Vermont Recital Hall, and on July 21st at the Hardwick Town House.

The piece is to be performed by Makoto Nakura (marimba), Jeffrey Carney (double bass), Frances Rowell (cello), Joyce Hammann(violin) and Dominic Derasse (trumpet).

This commission is made possible by grants from the Argosy Foundation Contemporary Music Fund; the Allen Agency Real Estate, Inc.; the Craftsbury Inn, Craftsbury; Highland Lodge, Greensboro; the Inn on the Common, Craftsbury Common; and the Lakeview Inn, Greensboro.
