Barbara Govatos
Violin
Violinist Barbara Govatos has collaborated as soloist and chamber musician with Radu Lupu, Riccardo Muti, Christopher Parkening, Wolfgang Sawallisch, the Emerson Quartet and with the Dallas Symphony, Chamber Orchester of Philadelphia, Juilliard Orchestra and the Delaware Symphony. She has performed at Marlboro, Salzburg, Saratoga, Marblehead and Maggio Musicale Music Festivals and given concerts and master classes at UCLA, Mt. Holyoke College, University of Delaware, Bucknell University and Westminster Conservatory of Rider University. She is a frequent guest artist with the Lenape Chamber Ensemble, the Philadelphia Art Museum's Series, and the Amerita Chamber Players. A member of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Ms. Govatos markes her 14th season as violinist and Music Director of the Delaware Chamber Music Festival. In February 2000, she made her Weill Hall debut performing the complete Violin Sonatas of Brahms and made a return engagement in December 2003. She serves on the Advisory board of Astral Artistic Services and both the Education and New Hall Committees for the Philadelphia Orchestra.
