Carol Rodland
Viola
Carol Rodland recently performed solo recitals at Merkin Hall and Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall as well as chamber music concerts throughout the United States and Europe. Her chamber music partners this season have included James Buswell, Miriam Fried, Kim Kashkashian, Laurence Lesser and the Henschel Quartet. She performs frequently with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and will release her first solo album on the Crystal Records label later this year. Ms. Rodland holds Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Karen Tuttle, as well as an Aufbaustudium Diplom from the Musikhochschule Freiburg, where as a Fulbright Scholar she studied with Kim Kashkashian. She has won first prizes at the Washington International Competition. Ms. Rodland has taught at the Musikhochschule "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin (1996-2001). She lives in Boston where she is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory.
