Liuh-Wen Ting
Viola
An active chamber musican in both classical and contemporary genres, Liuh Wen Ting maintains a busy schedule both in this country and abroad. Her frequent European tours as a principle violinist of SEM ensembel include recent concerts at the Prague Spring Music Festival and the Warsaw Autumn Music Festival. Last summer she performed solos with the Janacek Symphony Orchestra in the Czech Republic. In 1999 she gave a recital at the Gran Teatro of Havana to celebrate the new millennium, and in April, 2003 she performed a solo recital at the Merkin Concert Hall in New York for the Interpretation Series. Ms. Ting received her bachelor and masters begrees as a full scholarship student of Karen Tuttle, William Lincer , and Eugene Becker at the Julliard School and studied chamber music with the Juilliard String Quartet. A member of the Meridian String Quartet, which recently released a CD for Capstone Records, she has been on the Juilliard Pre-College division faculty since 1989. Currently a faculty member of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program, Ms.Ting has been on the staff of the Composers Conference at Wellesley College since 1992.
