Dominic Derasse

Dominic Derasse, trumpeter, graduated with First Prize from the Paris Conservatory in his native France. Since immigrating to the United States in 1985, he has fast become one of the most sought after trumpet players in New York. His versatility has allowed him to perform with Eos, New York Philharmonic, St. Luke's Orchestra, the American Symphony, Concordia and more than 30 Broadway shows. He has performed live with Sting, Elton John and many others, and has appeared on numerous recordings. He can be heard on the soundtracks for more than 70 films and in commercials for more than 100 different companies. "NBC Nightly News" is probably his most recognizable TV theme performance. Mr. Derasse's CD of Baroque favorites should be ready for release this summer. He has performed as a soloist and presented master classes on five continents and appears regularly with the Craftsbury Chamber Players. Derasse became a citizen of the United States of America on March 21, 2001 and is a volunteer firefighter in his community.
