Mairi Dorman
Cello
A native of Scotland, Mairi Dorman has given concerts as a soloist and chamber musician throught Europe, the US and Taiwan. Having recently moved to New York City, she performs regularly with New York Philharmonia Virtuosi and is currently the principle cellist of the Broadway production, "The Boy from Oz." She has performed with Ensemble Sospeso, Cello, Sonos, Di Capo Opera, Camerata New York and the Azure Ensemble. Highlights of recent performances include a featured solo with Cassandra Wilson as part of the the Bill T Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company "Phantom Project" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music in London, she earned a Masters degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is now completing the doctoral progam. She has served on the faculty of Arapaho College in Denver and as faculty and guest artist at the Ameropa International Chamber Music Festival in Prague in 2001 and 2002.
