Christopher Guzman
Piano

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Christopher Guzman began studying piano at age nine and made his orchestral debut at 13. He has since has performed as soloist with many orchestras, including the San Antonio Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, and The EOS Orchestra of New York City. He has performed concerti with the Juilliard Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and in Spoleto, Italy. Engagements this season include recitals at the Gardner Museum and Jordan Hall in Boston, and at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. As an avid chamber musician, Mr. Guzman has appeared in Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Leipzig's Gewandhaus, the Kennedy Center, San Francisco Performances, the Vancouver Recital Series and other venues. He performs regularly with acclaimed violinist Ilya Gringolts, and their 2002 recital on National Public Radio's Saint Paul Sunday continues to broadcast. In June 2005, he was one of five Young Artists in Residence at the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival in Florida. He studied with Kenneth Thompson in San Antonio, and with Jerome Lowenthal and Robert McDonald at The Juilliard School, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. Now living in Boston, Mr. Guzman is working towards an Artist Diploma at the New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Patricia Zander.
