Phillip Isaacson
Harpsichord

Phillip Isaacson received his training at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Yale School of Music. His organ teachers included Clarence Watters, Fenner Douglas and Charles Krigbaum. Mr. Isaacson was awarded a Fulbright Grant to study with the eminent German organist, Helmut Walcha. During his course of study, Mr. Isaacson continued to pursue the harpsichord with such teachers as Richard Rephann, Isolde Ahlgrimm and Maria Jaeger. He has appeared as soloist with the Hartford Chamber Orchestra and as a chamber musician with such groups as the Baroque Companions of Hartford, the Essex Chamber Players, the Sea Cliff Chamber Players and the Nutmeg Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Isaacson has been Visiting Lecturer at SUNY Binghamton and Organist and Choirmaster of Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, Connecticut. He has recently retired as Music Director at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel and St. Mark's Episcopal Chapel at the University of Connecticut and now lives and teaches privately in East Craftsbury, VT.
