Liuh-Wen Ting
Viola
The Czech Music 2001 publication praised Violist Liuh-Wen Ting’s solo performance with the Janacek Symphony Orchestra as "an extraordinary experience." This graduate of the Juilliard School and former member of the Meridian String Quartet enjoys collaborating with artists across many different spectrums, most recently with the Cassatt string Quartet and the Persian master Shahram Nazeri on a sold-out tour, appearing on ABC, CNN, and Fox News. She has performed as a soloist of the 6th Brandenburg concerto for the Berkshire Bach Society's New Year concerts the past 4 years and as soloist for festivals such as The Etnafest (Sicily, 2006), The Prague Spring Music Festival, Ostrava New Music Days in the Czech Republic, The Warsaw Autumn Music Festival in Poland, and the Primavera en la Habana electro-acoustic music festival. She has recorded chamber music on the Deutsche Grammophon, Sony, and Capstone Record labels. A staff member of the Composers Conference at Wellesley College since 1993, Ms. Ting is a faculty member of the prep division at the Mannes School of Music.
