Marshall Coid
Violin

Marshall Coid has been described by The New York Times as "astonishingly versatile" for his multi-faceted career as a counter tenor, violinist, composer, writer and actor. Since graduating from the Juilliard School in 1979 he has appeared as a soloist for Lincoln Center Great Performers, the United Nations, Spoleto Festival, the Kennedy Center, the New York Shakespeare Festival, New York Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Oak Ridge Symphony, Connecticut Grand Opera, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Ithaca Opera and the International Performers Festival in Belgium. Mr. Coid was the Golliard Ensemble’s 1997 Composer and Artist-in-Residence for their annual US tour. His television credits include Fame, Another World, Guiding Light, Nosferatu on MTV and numerous commercials. On Broadway he has appeared in Rags, Ghetto, Barnum (where he played violin on the high wire), Sunset Boulevard and most recently Chicago. Currently Mr. Coid is a soloist with the Queen’s Chamber Band and New York’s Ensemble for Early Music (in residence at St. John the Divine). He is also on the Adjunct Music Faculty of Columbia University.
