Alan R. Kay
Clarinet

Alan R. Kay is Co-Principal clarinet of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He has performed with the prize-winning group Hexagon, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and Da Camera of Houston. His wind quintet, Windscape, recently released its first CD, "The Roaring Twenties," and was heard throughout the USA on NPR's "Performance Today" and in Canada on the CBC. Mr. Kay is Principal Clarinet of New York's Riverside Symphony and the new music group, Parnassus. He appears as Principal Clarinet with the American Symphony Orchestra, the New Philharmonic of New Jersey, and the Little Orchestra Society. He is also Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Ensemble, the top classical music draw at the Cape May (NJ) Music Festival. Mr. Kay has also recently conducted the New York City-based Speculum Musicae and the Cape May Festival Orchestra. He teaches on the faculties of the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools and lives in New Jersey with his two boys, Noah and Jonathan, ages 9 and 6.
