Fulbright Scholar, Immanuel Davis, has been the flute professor at the University of Minnesota since 2001. His interest in breathing work and its application to performance and musicality has made him much in demand as a guest teacher. He has given classes at Yale, Grinnell College, North Carolina School of the Arts and in Japan and Norway. He has also worked with orchestra wind sections in Mexico and for the United States Air Force Band. Educated at the Juilliard School as a student of Julius Baker, Mr. Davis has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and throughout the United States and Japan. His CD, Prevailing Winds was released in 2004 and he is currently working on a second recording of the flute sonatas of Philippe Gaubert.
