A native of Seattle, pianist Monica Ohuchi has performed in such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Bargemusic, and Meany Hall of Seattle. She has been featured on New York's WQXR, Seattle's KING FM, Delaware Today, and the WE Network. Invited as guest soloist for the Rain City Symphony, the New Millennium Symphony Orchestra of Spain, Orchestra Seattle, Seattle Junior Symphony Orchestra, and the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, she is the first-prize winner in the 2006 William Garrison International Competition, the Dorothy Anderson International Competition, and the Wayne Nadeau International Piano Competition, among many other awards. Last fall, Monica served as Artist-in-Residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts performing duo-piano repertoire. Currently on the piano faculty at Music in Chappaqua, in New York, Monica holds her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The Juilliard School. She resides in Brooklyn, NY.
