A Juilliard graduate with a Masters Degree on the viola, Liuh-Wen Ting played with the Meridian Quartet from 1996 to 2001 and has collaborated most recently with Ensemble l'art pour l'art, the Cassatt String Quartet, and a series of soldout concerts with Persian vocal master Shahram Nazeri and his son Hafez. She has performed chamber music concerts with such musicians as AACM members George Lewis, Roscoe Mitchell; Kenneth Cooper, Bernard Greenhouse, Paula Robison, soprano Kathleen Battle, and Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society. Ms. Ting has been on the staff of the Composers Conference at Wellesley College since 1993. She has performed in such international festivals as The Prague Spring Music Festival, Ostrava New Music Days, The Warsaw Autumn Music Festival, Primavera en la Habana international electro-acoustic music festival, and Etnafest. Her solo performance of Morton Feldman's Viola in My Life with the Janacek Symphony Orchestra was praised by The Czech Music 2001 as "an extraordinary experience". Ms Ting has recorded chamber music for Deutsche Grammophon, Mode, and Capstone Record.
