Joyce Hammann
Violin

Joyce Hamman, violinist, enjoys a varied career from Broadway musicals to the contemporary music scene to the concert stage. At age seven she began Suzuki studies and later graduated from Juilliard School where her teachers were Dorothy Delay and Ivan Galamian. Joyce is currently Concertmaster of the Phantom of the Opera and has collaborated with such artists as Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Tony Bennett. Current recordings include String Quartets by John Zorn, Book of Tells by Mark Feldman (violin and viola) and Wagner and Venezia with painist Uri Caine. Active in film, video and television, her sweet, rich tone can be heard on the Dave Letterman, Rosie O�Donnell and Saturday Night Live shows. as well as a recent appearance on Law and Order. In New York City this past year Ms. Hammann premiered three concerti with Scandia Symohopny and also toured throughout Europe and Asia with the improvisatory group led by Uri Caine. Hobbies inclde yoga, knitting and cooking while playtime is spent with her two dogs and husband Jeff.
